Barn Hunt is an independent organization. However, Barn Hunt titles are recognized by the American Kennel Club through their Title Recognition Program. If you have an AKC registered dog and would like to have your Barn Hunt titles show up on your AKC pedigree and in your official AKC record, it's easy. Only titles of RATN and above are recognized.
You will need to fill out the title recognition form and include it, a copy of your Barn Hunt title certificate, and the indicated AKC fees.
To learn more about the AKC and their many programs, go to www.akc.org.
To print your Barn Hunt title certificate, log in to your account (see Log In above). Click on your dog's name, then on the Award title.
Please note that because we are an independent sport, all Barn Hunt titles will go behind your dog's name on their AKC registration, including RATCH andRATCHX. At this time, Line Drive titles are not recognized, and only the major Crazy 8s titles are recognized. We are appreciative of the work that AKC has put in to recognize our titles.
Barn Hunt events can be held in conjunction with AKC events with certain specific rules.
In order to hold ANY Barn Hunt event in conjunction with
an AKC event, the following must be true:
Only the Barn Hunt Association has been given sanction to hold Barn Hunt events in conjunction with AKC events. An entity which is not affiliated with the Barn Hunt Association (not a licensed club) cannot offer any activity called "Barn Hunt" at any AKC event. The term [Barn Hunt] is Service Marked and may not be used by any entity not licensed and approved by the Barn Hunt Association.
